Pay@, a leading payment aggregator and provider of secure payment solutions, is seeking a customer-centric Head of Product to join its dynamic team. This role requires a strategic, commercially minded leader with strong analytical capability, executive-level stakeholder management skills, and a deep commitment to delivering world-class customer experiences.
This position will be based in Stellenbosch.
The ideal candidate is data-driven, forward-thinking, and able to translate complex market and customer needs into scalable, high-impact product strategies. The purpose of this role is to define and execute the overall product vision and roadmap for the products and services that customers rely on daily, while ensuring strong product performance, regulatory alignment, and sustained market competitiveness.
Responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
• Owning the overall product vision and long-term strategy.
• Governing product prioritisation and investment decisions through a data-driven roadmap.
• Ensuring strong alignment between customer needs, commercial outcomes, and technology delivery.
• Overseeing product pricing, performance, and profitability in collaboration with finance.
• Ensuring regulatory and industry compliance across the product portfolio.
• Leading cross-functional alignment across technology, commercial, risk, and customer teams.
• Guiding go-to-market strategy and adoption.
• Communicating product strategy, progress and outcomes effectively to executive leadership, the broader organisation and external stakeholders including billers (merchants), payment networks and partners.
Minimum requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business/Marketing, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in product management, preferably in a Banking, Payments or Fintech environment.
• Demonstrable experience in managing data-intensive products, such as dashboards, analytics tools, or reporting platforms.
• Strong understanding of the e-commerce landscape, including shopping carts, online payment gateways, and fraud prevention.
• Proven ability to work effectively with agile development teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to a diverse audience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
