Job Description: We are seeking a talented Systems Reliability Engineering Technical Specialist to join the Engineering function within the Distribution Business Unit. This role focuses on developing and implementing reliability strategies, improving asset performance, and driving proactive risk management to ensure equipment reliability, safety, and cost efficiency throughout the lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Reliability Strategy Development:
Develop and implement reliability programs and initiatives for equipment.
Define maintenance and inspection strategies aligned with equipment criticality and lifecycle cost considerations.
Apply engineering principles effectively within the reliability discipline.
Implement predictive maintenance strategy solutions, including Preventech.
Root Cause Analysis:
Lead or support failure investigations using structured tools such as Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and 5 Whys.
Facilitate corrective action planning and ensure effective follow-up to prevent recurrence.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
Analyse equipment performance data, including downtime, MTBF, and MTTR, to identify reliability risks and improvement opportunities.
Develop dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators and support data-driven decision-making.
Technical Support and Collaboration:
Provide technical guidance on reliability-related issues to site engineering and operations teams.
Share best practices and lessons learned across sites to support continuous improvement initiatives.
Asset Health Monitoring:
Support the implementation of predictive maintenance technologies such as vibration analysis, oil analysis, and condition monitoring systems.
Interpret asset health data and recommend proactive maintenance actions to mitigate risk.
Project Management and Continuous Improvement:
Support or lead projects focused on equipment upgrades, reliability improvements, and cost reduction initiatives.
Drive product and system excellence through proactive risk management, quantitative reliability analysis, and failure reporting systems.
Leadership and Capability Development:
Provide technical leadership on complex reliability initiatives and process improvements.
Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to strengthen the organization’s reliability culture and engineering capability.
Required Skills and Competencies:
Strong expertise in reliability engineering tools and methodologies, including failure mode avoidance, quantitative reliability analysis, and test planning.
Advanced problem-solving and data analysis skills, with the ability to lead root cause investigations and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
Systems thinking and modeling capability to analyse product and system performance at component and system levels.
Strong cross-functional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to drive alignment on reliability objectives and continuous improvement initiatives.

Candidate Requirements
Qualifications and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a relevant STEM discipline required.
Postgraduate (Master’s) qualification in a relevant discipline may be required for select roles.
Prior Senior or Lead Engineer–level experience in a relevant discipline, with a demonstrated track record of technical problem-solving and sound engineering decision-making.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools preferred.
This position may require licensing to comply with export control or sanctions regulations.
