Summary purpose/expectations: 

The purpose of the role is to maintain the installation, maintenance, testing, fault-finding, and repair of high-voltage electrical systems. Ensure safe, reliable operations of high voltage electrical infrastructure across site. Work as part of a skilled maintenance team in a safety-focussed mining environment.

Key Deliverables:

• Install, maintain, and repair high-voltage equipment (switchgear, transformers, cables, substations).
• Ensure high voltage switching, isolation, and earthing in accordance with approved procedures.
• Maintain substations, transformers, switchgear, and HV cable networks.
• Codes, Regulations Compliance & Health and Safety procedures are maintained.
• Conduct inspections, testing, and commissioning of HV system.
• Constant electrical troubleshoot and diagnoses.
• Perform routine maintenance and checks to ensure the appropriate functioning of electrical systems.
• Retrofit old systems to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
• Complete switching schedules, logbooks, and maintenance reports.
• Respond to breakdowns and emergency callouts when required.
• Repair equipment, or fixtures, electrical control panels, etc.
• Preserve precise records of work performed, including diagrams, blueprints, and technical documentation.

Codes and Regulations Compliance:

• Adhere national electrical codes and safety regulations.
• Ensure that installations meet quality and safety standards.

Health and Safety:

• Ensure safety procedures and equipment are maintained. 
• Ensure a health and safe work environment.
• Enforce safety standards and participate in risk assessments and toolbox talks.
