We are seeking a talented and experienced Butchery Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about food, butchery, and customer service. The Butchery Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the butchery department, including managing a team of staff, maintaining inventory and ordering stock, ensuring a clean and sanitary work environment, and providing exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of staff, including training, and scheduling and disciplining
- Create and implement butchery department policies and procedures
- Maintain high levels of food safety and sanitation standards
- Monitor inventory and order supplies/stock as needed,also monitor and manage waste
- Provide exceptional customer service and resolve any customer complaints or issues in a timely manner
- Ensure that all products are of high quality and meet company standards
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate sales and promotions
- Develop and implement strategies to increase sales and profitability
- Keep up to date with industry trends and best practices

Candidate Requirements
- 3+ years of experience working in a butchery, with at least 1 year in a managerial role
- Extensive knowledge of butchery processes, cuts of meat, and food safety standards
- Strong leadership and communication skills,aswell as ability to work in a team
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
- Customer service-oriented with a passion for food and butchery
- Meat Expertise: Deep knowledge of meat cuts, preparation, deboning, trimming, and portioning.
- Equipment Proficiency: Skilled in operating and maintaining butchery tools like slicers and grinders.
- Food Safety & Hygiene: Strict adherence to health regulations, sanitation, and proper storage.
- Team Leadership: Training, mentoring, motivating, and scheduling staff.
- Performance Management: Setting targets, monitoring performance, and handling staff issues.
- Problem-Solving: Addressing challenges, managing pressure, and taking initiative.
- Inventory Control: Managing stock levels, reducing waste, and ordering effectively.
- Sales & Merchandising: Displaying products attractively, developing promotions, and driving sales.
- Financial Management: Understanding costing, pricing, margins, and reporting on GP (Gross Profit).
- Operational Processes: Managing POS systems, scales, and daily store operations.
- Customer Service: Handling complaints, engaging customers, and building relationships.
- Communication: Clear verbal and written skills for staff and customers.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulousness in work, from cutting to cleanliness.
- Adaptability & Stress Tolerance: Handling varied demands and high-pressure situations.
