The Accountant will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards, and providing financial insights to support business decision-making. This role involves overseeing daily accounting functions, preparing financial reports, managing budgets, and ensuring statutory compliance.The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, analytical, and able to work independently while supporting management with accurate financial information.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain accurate financial records and general ledger accountsPrepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statementsManage accounts payable and receivableReconcile bank statements and balance sheet accountsPrepare and submit VAT, PAYE, and other statutory returnsAssist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow managementEnsure compliance with accounting standards and company policiesLiaise with auditors, tax consultants, and external stakeholdersMonitor expenses and identify cost-saving opportunitiesSupport management with financial analysis and reporting

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Professional accounting qualification (SAIPA / SAICA / CIMA – advantageous)
• Minimum of 3–5 years’ accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations
• Experience with accounting software (e.g. Sage, Pastel, Xero, or similar)
• Advanced Excel skills
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
