Define, document, and maintain clear outcomes, benefits, and success measures for programmes and projects
Develop and apply outcomes frameworks, benefits maps, and logic models
Track, analyse, and report progress against agreed outcomes and benefits
Support post-implementation reviews and benefits realisation activities
Provide assurance across programmes and projects, identifying risks, issues, and dependencies
Conduct or coordinate assurance reviews at key delivery stages
Assess readiness, controls, and alignment to strategic objectives
Support investment, programme, and project governance processes
Provide objective challenge to plans, assumptions, forecasts, and delivery approaches
Identify early warning signs and recommend corrective actions
Ensure lessons learned are captured and embedded into future delivery
Partner with programme leads, delivery teams, finance, and senior stakeholders
Facilitate workshops and reviews focused on outcomes, risks, and delivery confidence
Communicate complex findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
Promote best practice in outcomes management and assurance
Develop templates, guidance, and tools to improve consistency and quality
Contribute to the organisation’s maturity in assurance and benefits management
Clear, measurable outcomes defined and tracked across major initiatives
Improved delivery confidence with reduced risk of late-stage failure
Early identification and mitigation of risks, issues, and dependencies
Strong governance, transparency, and accountability
Demonstrable benefits realised from investment
Proven experience in outcomes management, assurance, or performance management
Strong analytical and critical-thinking capability
Experience reviewing programmes or projects and providing constructive challenge
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority
Experience with assurance frameworks (e.g. internal assurance or gateway-style reviews)
Knowledge of benefits realisation and performance reporting
Experience working in complex or transformation environments

This role provides independent insight, challenge, and assurance across the delivery lifecycle, strengthening governance, improving delivery confidence, and ensuring accountability for results. You will work closely with delivery teams, finance, and senior stakeholders to support high-quality decision-making and successful benefit realisation.
