Our mine, situated in the Limpopo Province about 60 kilometers from Lydenburg and 40 kilometers from Burgersfort, and is a world-class producer of Chrome Ore.

The successful applicant will report to the Chargehand or nominee.

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Grade 10 / Standard 8 Certificate.
Code 08 (EB) Driver’s Licence.

EXPERIENCE (including but not limited to):

Completion of a relevant, approved training programme.
1 year practical underground Engineering experience.
Advantageous: 6 months practical UV Operator experience.

DUTIES (including but not limited to):

Operate the machinery allocated to him/her in such a way that material, tools and equipment are supplied safely, within time, without damage to the machinery, and according to approved procedures. Report breakdowns and problems regarding material availability. Take responsibility for all activities under his/her control regarding safety. Ensure all Codes of Practice and Standard Operating Procedures are adhered to.
Operate the equipment to achieve pre-determined deadlines/ requirements. Operate and control mechanical equipment and machinery. Continuously observe / monitor component performance against standards to identify any sub performance / non-conformance or deviations, and report to Supervisor.
Report breakdowns/ damages timeously to the control room operator.
Take care of assigned vehicle. Safe and timeous loading, transporting and off-loading of belt material and parking of vehicle according to Standard Operating Procedure.
Assist with removal of old tips and belt structures, and transport to surface workshop, as per schedule.
Adhere to Key Control Procedure.
