An international IPP is looking for a Wind Energy Engineer to join their team in Cape Town. 

This is a skilled position responsible for the overall technical development and execution of wind energy projects, with a focus on the wind turbine aspects. It includes feasibility and front-end engineering studies, site studies, preliminary design and design specifications in contracts and procurement.

Minimum requirements:

·        BEng/BSc/BS (Mechanical, Mechatronic, Electrical)

·        10+ years’ experience in the wind energy environment.

·        Strong understanding of turbine supply and installation EPC and O&M agreements, experience with split wind farm contracts is preferred.

·        Experienced in contract negotiation

·        Awareness and understanding of the relevant technical codes, regulations and standards relating to the development of renewable energy projects in South Africa.

·        Expertise in performance testing of wind energy projects

·        Requires an organised approach to working, task prioritisation and time management.

·        Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
