SENIOR APPLICATION ENGINEER

The role of the Senior Application Engineer is primarily to assist and facilitate growth, improvement, and leadership within the Application Engineering department. The aim of the role will be to release the need for the Senior Technical Engineer for day-to-day involvement in Application Engineering as well as increase our client experience of Application Engineering.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Join application engineers to site visits, 2-3 days a week and assist in problematic applications and/or poor pump performance (CURVE, Battlemax and Black Widow).
• Guide and lead application engineers in all site activities
• Facilitate and drive all improvements and improvement projects within application engineering.
• Report back to the Technical Sales Manager on the status of current improvement projects or the initiation of possible new improvements to be made.
• Validate and approved proposals on a daily basis.
• Manage all documents and trackers for all application engineering-related activities.
• Compile the induction/training plan for all new engineers within the Technical Sales Department – this includes the generation of documents and presentations for all technical and departmental training.
• Manage all departmental assets – this includes the procurement of tools and weekly/monthly checks on company vehicles.
• Provide 2 weekly feedback on all trials – this includes the writing of the trial report for management.
• Facilitate and take ownership of the warranty claim process – this includes the investigation with the appropriate application engineer.
• Join the Technical Sales Manager in the shortlisting, interviewing and appointing of new application engineers.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE:

Application Engineering experience within Pump and Abrasion Technologies.

Based at our Head Office in Centurion.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

B.Eng or BSc.Eng degree in Mechanical or Process Engineering – Compulsory
