KAMOA COPPER SA is looking for a Superintendent III, Environmental Management Systems, Compliance and Performance
The Kamoa Copper Mine is a joint venture between Ivanhoe Mines (39.6%), Zijin Mining Group (39.6%), Crystal River Global Limited (0.8%) and the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo (20%). It's a very large, near-surface, flat-lying, stratiform copper deposit with adjacent prospective exploration areas within the Central African Copperbelt, at approximately 25 kilometres west of the town of Kolwezi and about 270 kilometres west of the provincial capital of Lubumbashi.

You will have the following:
- Must have a degree in Environmental science or equivalent
- A master’s degree in environmental is an added advantage
- Must have at least 12 years’ experience in mining environment
- Must have at least 8-years’ experience in a supervisory managerial role within the mining sector.
- Must have at least 8 years’ experience in environmental management systems such as ISO 14001 or similar
- Proficiency in business English is mandatory. Working knowledge of French will be considered highly advantageous...
Role Specific Knowledge
- In-depth working knowledge of all relevant legislation and planning, policies, international Environmental Standards (IFC, Equator Principles, ICMM, Copper Mark etc.)
- Environmental management systems (ISO 14001 or similar)
- Understanding administrative processes and systems required for legal compliance
- In depth understanding of mining and process operations
- Knowledge of work-related hazards and associated risk
- Familiarity with database management software.
- Ability to simplify complex datasets and present them comprehensibly in a report to Environmental management
Technical Skills
- Advanced skills with MS Excel and proficiency with MS Word and PowerPoint.
- Proficiency at writing technical reports in English.
- SHE management and reporting systems
- Knowledge of GIS software will be an advantage

- Establish and implement an effective environmental management system
- Environmental Compliance and Performance-Enterprise Environmental Risks Management
- Environmental management reporting
- Stakeholder management- Build working relationships across teams and functional lines to enhance work delivery, collaboration and innovation
- People - Manage a division that builds people, values difference and creates an inclusive work environment
- Finance - Monitor expenses as per Delegation of Authority Matrix
- Skills Transfer and Transformation- Support the organisational Skills Transfer agenda
- HSEQ -Ensure a Zero Harm workplace
