Qualifications & Experience
Proven experience working with large cattle herds (preferably 500+ head).
Practical experience in livestock management, feeding systems, and herd health.
Knowledge of breeding cycles, calving, weaning, and general herd development.
Experience administering vaccinations, medications, and basic veterinary treatments.
Previous farm or ranch experience required; livestock certifications are an advantage.
Technical Skills
Ability to monitor cattle health, detect illnesses early, and take corrective action.
Skilled in operating feeding machinery, cattle handling equipment, and farm vehicles.
Ability to maintain accurate herd records, treatment logs, and movement registers.
Understanding of nutrition programs, grazing patterns, and feed rationing.
Knowledge of livestock welfare standards and farm safety procedures.
Physical & Operational Requirements
Ability to work long hours and handle physically demanding tasks.
Comfortable working in outdoor, rural, or remote environments.
Able to respond to cattle emergencies, including after-hours when required.
Capable of working with cattle in pens, crushes, and open-field environments.
