Overview & Key Responsibilities

The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for controlling day-to-day electrical maintenance and providing technical support to maintenance, operations and project teams regarding operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all electrical equipment to ensure safe, reliable and cost-effective maintenance and operation. Key areas of responsibility for this role would include, but are not limited to:

1. Ensure maximum utilization of Artisan and Artisan Assistant by reviewing maintenance priorities and assigning tasks to maintenance personnel.

2. Participate in planning activities to ensure proper manpower, materials, and methods are employed to minimize production disruption.

3. Develop and document detailed procedures addressing all aspects of electrical equipment.

4. Lead continuous improvement initiatives by developing and applying effective reliability strategies.

5. Provide technical support to the On-sites project department.

6. Plan and control plant shutdowns by assessing long-term requirements, creating bar charts, organizing and supervising plant and contract labour. Initiate requirements for consumables and equipment spares by submitting store requisition cards and requirements lists to the stores administrator.

Candidate Requirements

1. Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

2. A minimum of +10 years of experience in the maintenance and operation of electrical equipment.

3. Proven experience on HV motors, switch gear, transformers, substation maintenance.

4. Must have a good understanding of the electrical engineering standards.

5. Knowledge of protection relays, fault calculations.

6. Knowledge of predictive maintenance.

7. Must have good verbal and written communication skills.

8. Computer literate and basic proficiency in MS Office suite with proven experience in Excel.

9. Must have a valid unendorsed driver's license with own vehicle.
