Employer: Van Loveren Family Vineyards

Van Loveren Family Vineyards, known for their consistency, award-winning wines and innovation, has the above position available for an individual with strong strategic decision-making and negotiation skills, paired with a results-driven approach and networking and relationship building capabilities.

 

The ideal candidate will be based near the operations situated in Robertson, alternatively in the Cape Winelands with regular travels to Robertson.

 

This role requires a deep understanding of national markets, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to analyse market data to drive national sales strategies.

 

KPA’s will include: *National Sales Strategy: Develop and implement national sales strategies; Lead and oversee Sales Managers; Identify and target high-potential markets for expansion; Analyse national market trends, emerging regions, and competitor activity to inform sales tactics.*Sales Forecasting & Budgeting: Develop sales forecasts and revenue targets for national markets; Create and manage the national sales budget; Track sales metrics and KPI’s; Leverage market research and sales data to analyse trends, performance, and growth potential; Provide reports and actionable insights on market opportunities, challenges, and results; Collaborate with legal and finance teams. *Leadership & Team Management: Lead and guide Sales Managers to motivate teams; conduct reviews and identify development opportunities; Build a collaborative, results-driven culture; Align national sales efforts by working closely with relevant departments; *Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, distributors, and partners; Identify new business opportunities and develop tailored client solutions; Represent the company at events; Travel nationally as needed; Lead or support negotiations; Manage the full deal cycle-from proposal to contract.

 

Essential qualifications, skills, and experience:

• Degree in Sales/Trade/Finance or a related field is preferred;

• Relevant experience in a managerial sales role, including developing and executing national sales strategies (experience within the wine, beverage, or FMCG industry highly preferred);

• In-depth understanding and channel strategy of all areas and local markets, trade realities, and sales practices and key accounts;

• Knowledge of key account profitability and margin management, as well as regulatory and compliance knowledge for local markets, both on- and off-consumption.
