Our Client is looking for a candidate who is deeply passionate about vegetable seed improvement and committed to long-term growth within the company. The ideal candidate will have:

•  A relevant tertiary qualification in agriculture, plant science, or a related field.
• Proven practical experience in onion production and onion seed cultivation (this is essential).
• Experience in broader vegetable production.
• A strong desire to learn and grow within a specialist team.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

This role is part of a small, agile team based in Ceres (Western Cape), focused primarily on the development and enhancement of onion seeds. The company also works with other key crops including potato, sweet potato, carrots, cabbage, and pasture seed varieties. The incumbent will be responsible for:

• Maintain and improve existing onion and other vegetable cultivars.
• Development of new vegetable cultivars, with a strong focus on onions.
• Coordination of seed production and processing.
• Coordination of seed distribution to customers.
