My client, a multinational and in the commodity trading industry is looking for a detail-driven Trade Accountant to join a high-performing Oil & Energy Finance team based in Gauteng.

You'll be supporting the preparation of financial statements and monthly management accounts for several international entities involved in the marketing of Oil, Natural Gas, Power and Environmental products.
The team plays a key role in ensuring accurate reporting, strong controls, and continuous improvement of finance processes across multiple regions.

You'll Be Involved In

• 
  

  Managing intercompany reconciliations and ensuring accuracy across global entities

• 
  

  Performing Front-to-Back reconciliations between trading systems and back-office finance systems

• 
  

  Preparing and reviewing P/L and balance sheet reconciliations

• 
  

  Handling inventory and broker reconciliations

• 
  

  Matching third-party invoices to cash receipts/payments

• 
  

  Working closely with Treasury on cash allocations

• 
  

  Month-end activities including journals and adjustments

• 
  

  Supporting system upgrades, automation initiatives, and process enhancements

• 
  

  Liaising with teams across the UK, US, Switzerland and Singapore

• 
  

  Assisting with internal and external audits

• 
  

  Contributing to monthly reporting packs, analysis, and insights

• 
  

  Ad-hoc finance and accounting tasks linked to global marketing operations

Qualifications & Experience

• 
  

  Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• 
  

  Studying or interested in CIMA / ACCA / SAIPA / CFA

• 
  

  3-5 years experience in a similar accounting role

• 
  

  Strong exposure to reconciliations, month-end, journals, and management accounts

• 
  

  SAP experience is beneficial

• 
  

  Experience in commodity trading, energy, oil & gas, or a multinational environment is a strong advantage

• 
  

  Excellent Excel skills

• 
  

  Comfortable working with international teams using digital collaboration tools (e.g. Teams)

• 
  

  Strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
