We are looking for an experienced Enrolled Nursing Auxiliary (Day Shift) to join our dedicated team at Noordhoek Manor in the southern suburbs, just a quick 10-minute drive from Blue Route Mall over Ou Kaapse Weg.

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

Handover Responsibilities:

• Participate in handover by verbally communicating resident observations and recording them in the handover book.
• Act on reports from the previous shift during handover.
• Conduct regular observations and interventions based on ECP care plans, including:

1. Catheter care
2. Pressure care
3. Blood pressure monitoring
4. Intake and output monitoring
5. Pulse and temperature checks
6. Oxygen saturation levels
7. Hb and Hgt monitoring
8. Urine testing
9. Weighing residents
10. Administering eye drops

Clinical Duties:

• Perform all wound dressings as prescribed in the care plan, documenting and reporting wound progress.
• Immediately communicate any changes in a patient’s condition to the Shift Leader.
• Perform any other clinical tasks within the scope of practice as directed by the Shift Leader.

ECP (Electronic Care Plan):

• Log all actions according to the care plan in the ECP system.
• Provide input to the Shift Leader for potential amendments to care plans.
• Complete total intake and output charts at the end of each shift and record them in the ECP system.

Administration and Reporting:

• Manage and replenish nappy stock as needed.
• Record all tasks accurately in the ECP system.
• Ensure the handover book is completed thoroughly.
• Report all duties and concerns to the Shift Leader promptly.

Qualifications - Qualified and SANC registered as Nursing Auxiliary (ENA)

Experience and Knowledge – Experience in Neuro, Stroke, Orthopaedics, and Geriatrics, as well as experience within Sub Acute environments advantageous

Skills and Attributes - Strong interpersonal skills, professional communication, ability to work under pressure, make sound decisions, computer literate, professional, focused, well-spoken, neat, be able to converse with people on different levels - staff, families.

Working Hours - Normal working days are Monday to Sunday, as per the roster. You will be required to work 16.25 shifts per month. Shifts will be worked from 07h00 until 19h00.
