Our client, one of the country’s leading fruit exporters, is looking for a dynamic, disciplined and focused individual in the following position:

JUNIOR ACCOUNTANT

(WELLINGTON AREA)

Requirements:

-   B. Com Accounting/Financial Management qualification with at least 3-5 years accounting work experience – preferably in the fruit and/or agricultural industry.

-   SAICA articles will be advantageous.

-   Strong analytical ability and attention to detail.

-   Ability to adhere to strict deadlines.

-   Good communication & interaction skills with people on all levels in the organization.

-   Good computer software skills (Accpac & MS Office preferable)

Responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

-   Processing of Weekly Payment Batches

-   Accurate and Timely Vendor Recons

-   Oversight and review of Accounts Payable Invoices captured by Finance Clerks.

-   Accurate and Timely payments according to payment terms.

-   AR invoices & AR Recons

-   Processing of Bank Statements (weekly) & Bank Recons

-   Weekly update of 6 Weekly cash forecasts

-   Processing of Fixed Asset Acquisitions and disposals

-   Updating and Review of Asset Registers & calculation of Asset Depreciation

-   Periodic Inventory Counts/Adjustments/Recons

-   Complete accurate Bonus/Leave Provisions

-   Processing of Wage Payments, staff general recons, wage expense accounts

-   Process Wage journals

-   Processing of accounting entries for Month End Close up to Trial Balance

-   Complete accurate GL Recons.

-   Assist with submission of VAT 201 & EMP201

-   Complete monthly income tax and deferred tax calculations/workings

-   Assist with Submission of IRP501

-   Processing of all Fruit and Related Journals

-   Assist Farms and Projects Team with Filing and other Ad Hoc Tasks (Budget / Audit / Other Compliance)
