A well-established transport and haulage company is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join their team in Philippi, Cape Town. This role is ideal for a reliable and technically strong professional with hands-on experience working on heavy-duty vehicles and trailers in a fast-paced logistics environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the fleet operates at optimal performance, reducing downtime, and maintaining compliance with safety and roadworthiness standards. • Servicing of heavy-duty vehicles (MAN, VOLVO, FREIGHTLINER), trailers, and gensets, including oil changes, brakes, and general maintenance.
• Diagnosing mechanical issues and offering suitable, cost-effective solutions.
• Inspecting vehicles, including suspensions, steering systems, and exhausts.
• Repairing gearboxes, brakes, clutches, engines, and other associated components.
• Preparing vehicles for Certificate of Fitness (COF) inspections and ensuring full compliance with regulatory standards.
• Attending to emergency breakdowns on the road when required.
• Ensuring maintenance work is carried out efficiently and safely.
• Maintaining accurate records of work performed and parts used.

• Trade Certificate in Diesel Mechanic.
• Proven experience working on heavy-duty trucks and trailers.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to diagnose and repair faults efficiently.
• Experience preparing vehicles for COF inspections.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Good communication skills and a commitment to safety standards.
