We are seeking an experienced and driven Sales Manager to lead, motivate, and develop a team of life insurance advisers within a fast-paced, regulated UK brokerage environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the financial services industry, proven leadership capability, and the ability to drive performance while maintaining high standards of compliance and customer outcomes.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead, manage, and develop a team of life insurance advisers to achieve and exceed sales targets.
- Ensure that all advisers provide high-quality, compliant, needs-based life insurance advice.
- Monitor performance, delivering coaching, feedback, and performance improvement plans where necessary.
- Drive a culture of professionalism, accountability, and exceptional customer service.
- Oversee daily operations including pipeline management, target allocation, and sales reporting.
- Liaise closely with compliance teams to ensure all processes meet FCA regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular audits of adviser calls, files, and recommendations to ensure suitability and quality.
- Work collaboratively with senior leadership to deliver strategic objectives and improve sales efficiency.
- Implement and refine sales processes, training programmes, and development pathways.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and continuous development of new advisers.
- Maintain a high level of product knowledge across all advised life insurance products (Life, CIC, IP, Whole of Life, Over 50s).
- Use data and performance metrics to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
- Foster a positive, high-energy team environment that encourages collaboration and excellence.
- Communicate efficiently with the head of the UK operations manager.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Sales Manager (life insurance, financial services, or a regulated sales environment).
- Background in financial services with solid knowledge of advised life insurance products.
- Experience working in or alongside a UK-regulated firm (FCA) – desired but not essential.
- Strong understanding of compliance requirements within advised sales environments.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets through effective team leadership.
- Ability to coach and develop both new and experienced advisers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly organised, efficient, and detail-focused, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong data interpretation skills and the ability to make decisions based on performance metrics.
- Confident using CRM systems, reporting tools, and digital communication platforms.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and customer-focused leadership style.
