STOREMAN – CONSTRUCTION / INDUSTRIAL HVAC PROJECTS (CAPE TOWN)Department: Projects / OperationsReports to: Project ManagerSalary: Negotiable based on experienceOverview:A construction contractor specialising in industrial and commercial HVAC installations is seeking a reliable and organised Storeman to oversee the receiving, issuing, and control of materials, tools and equipment. The role requires strong attention to detail, accurate record-keeping and the ability to manage stores in a fast-paced contracting environment.

Minimum Requirements:

High School Diploma (Matric)
3–4 years’ experience as a Storeman in construction, engineering or industrial environments
Computer literate (Excel, Word, Outlook essential)
Strong understanding of stock control processes
Valid driver’s licence (advantage)
Ability to lift, move and handle materials safely
Clear communication and good interpersonal skills

General Duties:

Maintain full compliance with company policies, Quality Management Systems and safety procedures
Promote customer focus and professionalism throughout the organisation
Perform additional reasonable duties as required by management

Core Responsibilities:
Stock Management & Control:

Implement and follow all store procedures and controls
Receive consumables, equipment and materials, ensuring accurate recording of stock
Verify that all deliveries match delivery notes and purchase orders
Stack and store materials safely and correctly
Maintain a segregated quarantine area for non-conforming materials
Keep a detailed, up-to-date electronic stock register
Report damaged, missing or stolen stock immediately
Conduct stock takes twice annually and assist with audits

Logistics & Distribution:

Prepare and dispatch equipment and materials for site installation
Ensure deliveries to sites are on time and properly documented
Assist with safe loading and off-loading of vehicles
Manage internal and external logistics and distribution requirements

Tools, Equipment & Asset Control:

Issue tools and equipment to staff and record all movements
Maintain the tools register and ensure it is kept up to date
Ensure calibrated equipment is issued with valid calibration certificates

Vehicle Administration:

Ensure company vehicles are maintained, inspected and kept in good condition
Maintain logbooks and ensure drivers submit receipts and inspection logs

Documentation & Administration:

Process and sign delivery notes and ensure all documents are submitted timeously to Accounts (delivery notes, PO’s, receipts, credit notes)
Keep the store area neat, tidy and compliant at all times

Supervision:

Supervise the gardener and ensure office grounds are maintained in acceptable condition
