Accounting & Payroll Manager
Our client
is seeking a technically strong, well-spoken
Accounting & Payroll Manager
to oversee monthly accounting, payroll, and compliance for a portfolio of entities. You’ll manage deadlines end-to-end, guide a small team, and keep reporting and statutory submissions audit-ready.

Office based in George.

Position Type:
Full time, on-site, permanent position.

Salary offered: Between R35 000-R45 000 per month, dependent on ideal candidate's experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll oversight
• Manage and review payroll processing and monthly cut-offs for multiple entities.
• Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements (SARS, Department of Labour), including EMP201, IRP5 (interim & annual), UIF and COIDA submissions, EasyFile administration, and new registrations.
• Lead and support the payroll function; handle client/stakeholder queries timeously.
Accounting & VAT
• Oversee monthly accounting close and reporting timelines.
• Review bookkeeping and management accounts; complete processing for allocated clients.
• Perform core reconciliations (bank, suppliers, customers) and prepare journals to trial balance.
• Prepare VAT calculations and submissions; support SARS reviews and follow-ups.
• Provide day-to-day guidance to a team of bookkeepers.

Candidate Requirements
Qualifications & experience• Degree in
Finance/Accounting
(essential).
•
SAIPA/SAICA articles completed
, plus
2+ years’ post-articles
experience in an audit/accounting-firm environment.
• Solid software proficiency across
Sage
,
Sage One
,
Sage Payroll Professional
, and
Xero
(other systems advantageous).
