- Diagnosis & Repair: Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults across various agricultural machinery.
- Preventative Maintenance: Conduct routine servicing in line with manufacturer guidelines to minimise downtime and prevent breakdowns.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate service logs for all maintenance and repair work completed.
- Fleet Management: Oversee the ongoing maintenance of a fleet that may include light vehicles, trucks, tractors, and other farm equipment.
- Pre-Season Preparation: Ensure all machinery is fully prepared and operational ahead of critical farming seasons, such as planting and harvesting.
- Safety Compliance: Identify, report, and manage any health and safety risks related to equipment or maintenance procedures.
- Technical Support: Provide clear technical advice to farm managers and operators regarding machinery condition and required repairs.

As an Agricultural Mechanic with Western Mechanical, you will diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of farm machinery to support efficient agricultural operations. You’ll work across tractors, harvesters, sprayers, trucks, and more, ensuring our customers’ equipment is reliable and ready for every season.
This role suits someone with strong mechanical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Candidate Requirements
- Trade qualification as a Diesel Fitter, Agricultural Mechanic, Automotive Electricain or similar.
- Strong diagnostic skills across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple tasks.
- Commitment to safe work practices.
- Good communication and record-keeping skills.
