A dynamic FMCG Manufacturing Company is looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician with a strong technical background in mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems to support the plant’s operations. The successful candidate will perform maintenance activities, supervise apprentices, and contribute to continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct maintenance on plant equipment and facilities to achieve safety, quality, productivity, cost, and service objectives.

• Implement and support the site’s maintenance strategy and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Identify plant issues proactively to prevent production downtime.

• Request quotes from suppliers and contractors for planned maintenance work.

• Plan and allocate maintenance resources, conduct routine checks, and liaise with internal teams and contractors.

• Issue permits for contractor work and assist with machine operator training.

• Develop maintenance and machine operating SOPs in collaboration with departments.

• Supervise and mentor the maintenance team, including apprentices, ensuring high-quality work and training needs are met.

• Accurately capture maintenance data in the DMS system, generate PO requests, conduct stock takes, and support reporting and procedure improvements.

Requirements:

• Qualified Artisan: Millwright or Fitter with a Grade 12 qualification.

• Technical experience in mechanical systems, pneumatic systems, electrical wiring, electronics, basic welding (argon gas), and fitting.

• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.

• Experience in CMM systems and FMCG manufacturing environments.

• Familiarity with OSHA and other relevant safety regulations; proficient in hazmat handling.

• Proficient with repair equipment and power tools, as well as MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.

• Able to lift and carry up to 25kgs, work independently, follow instructions, multitask, and act effectively in emergencies.
