Overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of the Standard pumps warehouse:
Supervision of +/-12 staff
Optimizing Logistics processes i.e. ensuring efficient inbound, internal and outbound flows of materials
Identify areas for process improvement to maximize efficiency and reduce operating costs.
Maintain and improve 5S housekeeping standards and document continuous improvement projects.
Ensuring personnel safety by monitoring safe loading, offloading and material stacking on warehouse high-rack system. Provide a safe working environment by strictly adhering to all company policies, the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations.
Maintaining inventory record accuracy through diligent use of SAP WMS tools.
Supervising, Mentoring, Motivating, Training and Developing personnel to meet operational goals and customer demands.
Ensure all equipment, i.e. Barcode Scanners, Vertical Storage units, Cranes, Forklifts, Electric Reach Trucks and pallet jacks are properly maintained and operators are certified to use them.
Inbound Materials Processing:
Plan, coordinate and monitor the goods receiving and putaway processes for incoming raw materials and finished goods from internal and external sources.
Ensure all incoming deliveries are verified against purchase orders and production orders.
Ensure all goods received during the shift have all been processed on SAP in the same shift.
Ensure non-conforming materials are returned to suppliers within 7 days.
Ensure incoming materials are correctly identified and are putaway into their designated storage types/sections and bin locations.
Ensure space optimization to facilitate efficient putaway and stock retrieval to improve productivity.
Ensure stock is preserved during putaway and FIFO principles are adhered to by personnel.
Internal Materials Processing:
Oversee the picking of materials based on production orders and MRP scheduling, ensuring timely delivery to meet manufacturing deadlines.
Oversee order picking for the assembly line by ensuring Storeman are picking according to the bills of materials requirements for each product.
Oversee the efficient flow of raw materials, and sub-assemblies from storage locations to internal production lines or designated assembly areas.
Coordinate inventory transfers between different internal warehouse zones for raw materials, work-in-progress and finished goods
Ensure all inventory movements (issues and returns) are recorded immediately on SAP to maintain real-time inventory visibility.
Plan and lead the preparation and staging of kitted parts or subassemblies for different production runs.
Determine Bin maximums and allocate bulk/overflow to bulk storage areas.
Maintain material master settings by allocating storage sections and bin locations for all products.
Ensure FIFO principles are adhered to by the Storeman and stock is packed onto handling units without any handling damage occurring.
Outbound Materials Processing:
Direct and supervise all order fulfillment activities, including spare parts stock transfers, finished goods stock transfers and customer order deliveries and collections.
Ensure all outbound deliveries and collections are processed accurately and are packaged according to company Standards.
Coordinate outbound logistics with third-party logistics (3PL) freight forwarder, schedule collections and monitor transporter to ensure transportation deadlines are being met.
Oversee all necessary shipping documentation are prepared for domestic, cross-border and international shipping regulations.
Oversee the safe loading of vehicles, securing of products and ensure even distribution of loads to prevent damages that can occur in transit.
Troubleshoot and resolve any shipping discrepancies and delivery issues promptly.
Monitor deliveries and ensure all proof of deliveries are returned promptly for invoicing by maintaining delivered not invoiced reports daily.
Control inventory stored in outsourced warehouses and ensure company processes are being adhered to by the suppliers and their performance meets customer demands.
Serve as primary point of contact for 3PL service providers and outsourced warehouse partners.
Resolve high-level transportation issues with #PL providers, including freight claims, delivery discrepancies and day-to-day scheduling conflicts as and when they arise.
Inventory Management:
Plan and manage regular bin verification audits, cycle counting activities and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly.
Maintaining inventory record accuracy through diligent use of the WMS.
Control inventory stored in outsourced warehouses and ensure company processes are being adhered to by conducting quarterly cycle counting activities.
Ensure data flow reliability and integration between internal systems and outsourced warehouses systems.
Ensure security of the warehouse and maintain proper access control.
Equipment Maintenance
Ensure all tools and machinery are always maintained and are free of debris.
Ensure employees always comply with safe working procedures and practices
Maintain all resources i.e. racking, cranes, forklifts and vertical storage units.
Ensure all operators fill in daily equipment checklists prior to using equipment.

Candidate Requirements
Tertiary education: Diploma Warehouse/Logistics Management
5 years’ proven experience as a Warehouse Supervisor, Proficiency in Warehouse Management Software. (SAP experience advantageous)
5 years warehousing experience in a similar role.
Warehousing, Logistics and Transport Management
Proven experience working with handling equipment i.e. Forklifts and/or reach trucks
Experience working on SAP advantageous.
Strong problem-solving skills to resolve operational issues and analytical ability to solve complex inventory discrepancies.
