Our Structural Engineering firm – A19 Consulting Engineers is looking to appoint a Mid to Senior level Structural Engineer to join our Somerset West Office.

To fulfil the responsibilities of this role, you are expected to be detail-oriented, creative, and possess problem-solving skills, display an investigative nature and must be accurate, commercially aware, and have great communication skills. This is a collaborative position that will allow the engineer to learn from those around them while also getting a chance to work autonomously on projects from concept to completion. This position will involve taking on a team-lead roll to assist junior engineers to develop their skills while still performing your own designs.

Structural Engineer Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist in structural design and detailing of various structures (Steel, Concrete, Masonry).
• Create technical drawings and project specifications.
• Liaise with professionals such as architects, specialist engineers, clients and contractors.
• Perform site inspections of structural elements.
• Perform a team-lead role assisting junior engineers to develop their skills.
