About Us
Provar is a private company that specialises in the independent evaluation of new cultivars and rootstocks. Our mission is to empower the South African deciduous fruit and table grape industries to be sustainably competitive by generating world-class research and insights to inform the strategic decision-making of all industry stakeholders. We provide standardised, objective, and transparent reports to a range of clients, including license holders, cultivar managers and breeders. These reports are based on ongoing data collection and evaluation at sites representative of South Africa’s main fruit-growing regions. In addition to our evaluation services, we contribute to scientific research projects that support long-term growth and innovation across the broader fruit value chain. To ensure efficient data capture and reporting, we make use of Culteva™, our in-house developed mobile application.
