The Storeman is responsible for the accurate receiving, storage, and issuance of materials, tools, and equipment to support manufacturing operations. This role ensures inventory is organised, stock levels are maintained, and supplies are readily available to production teams to prevent downtime. The Storeman collaborates with procurement and production teams to maintain efficient material flow and support stock control processes for operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Inventory and Warehouse Management
Receive, inspect, and verify incoming deliveries for quantity and quality against purchase orders.
Organise and store materials and supplies in designated warehouse locations, adhering to safety and storage standards.
Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant warehouse environment according to health and safety regulations.
Conduct routine warehouse inspections to identify and report discrepancies or issues.
2. Stock Issuance and Management
Issue materials, tools, and equipment to production teams based on approved requisitions.
Monitor stock levels to ensure timely replenishment and prevent production delays.
Coordinate with procurement and production teams to forecast stock requirements and manage inventory flow.
3. Stock Records and Maintenance
Maintain accurate and up-to-date stock records.
Perform regular stock counts and reconciliations to verify inventory accuracy.
Conduct checks to ensure equipment and tools are in good working condition.
Report discrepancies, damages, or shortages to the appropriate team.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to handle physically demanding tasks, including lifting and moving materials.
Willingness to work in a warehouse environment and adhere to safety protocols.

Candidate Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:Grade 12 or NQF Level 4
Previous experience in a store or warehouse role, preferably within manufacturing
Forklift license advantageous
Strong planning, organisational, and coordination skills
Basic numeracy and literacy for accurate record-keeping
Ability to follow safety procedures and work in a physically demanding environment
Basic computer skills advantageous
