A leading retail design and manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Sourcing Coordinator to join their dynamic team in Cape Town. The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating sourcing activities, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the timely delivery of quality materials to support ongoing production and new product development.

Responsibilities

• Communicate and liaise directly with overseas suppliers to ensure accurate order placement, quality standards, and on-time delivery.
• Coordinate the sourcing process from product development to final delivery.
• Manage and mentor a Sourcing Assistant to ensure workflow efficiency and compliance with company standards.
• Prepare and maintain accurate sourcing documentation, including costings, timelines, and supplier communications.
• Collaborate with internal teams (design, buying, and production) to align sourcing activities with business objectives.
• Assist in identifying new suppliers, negotiating terms, and managing supplier performance.
• Travel abroad when required to attend supplier meetings, production visits, and trade shows.

Requirements

• Previous experience working and communicating directly with overseas suppliers.
• Strong administrative skills, including excellent written and verbal communication.
• Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office and related systems.
• Experience within a manufacturing, sourcing, or product development environment (retail or fashion sector preferred).
• Previous experience supervising or managing a Sourcing Assistant.
• Willingness and ability to travel internationally as needed.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
