About the Role:
An IT Infrastructure company is seeking a Helpdesk Engineer / Desktop Support Engineer to join their dynamic IT team based in V&A Waterfront,Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical support and user assistance, with a focus on Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange administration. This is a permanent, on-site role suited for someone proactive, detail-oriented, and passionate about delivering high-quality IT support.
Key Responsibilities:
· Provide first and second-line support to users via phone, email, and in-person.
· Manage and resolve incidents and service requests within agreed SLAs.
· Create, modify, and maintain user accounts in Active Directory.
· Perform Exchange mailbox administration, including mailbox setup, permissions, and troubleshooting.
· Support and troubleshoot Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, etc.).
· Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and peripheral issues.
· Configure and deploy PCs, laptops, and printers for new and existing staff.
· Maintain accurate records of work using the internal ticketing system.
· Escalate complex technical issues to senior engineers where necessary.
· Contribute to system documentation and maintain an up-to-date knowledge base.
· Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through professional, prompt, and courteous service.

Candidate Requirements
Minimum Requirements
· Matric (Grade 12) – Essential
· At least 2 years’ relevant IT Helpdesk / Technical Support experience
· Proficient in Active Directory (user creation, password resets, group policies, permissions)
· Strong knowledge of Microsoft Exchange / Office 365 administration
· Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, VPN, connectivity issues)
· Experience supporting Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365 applications
· Valid Driver’s License and Own Reliable Transport – Essential
· Excellent communication, troubleshooting, and customer service skills
