Role Overview:

As a Horse Racing Trader, you will be responsible for pricing, risk management, and live
trading of global horse racing markets with a focus on accuracy, competitiveness, and
profitability. The ideal candidate pairs a mathematical mindset with deep knowledge of
horse racing dynamics, market interactions, and customer behaviour.

Key Responsibilities:
• Compile and manage pre-race and in-play odds for domestic and major
international horse racing
• Monitor market movements, betting volumes, and risk exposures
• Adjust prices in real time to balance customer action and maintain desired
margin levels
• Work with the Head of Trading and tech teams to evolve horse racing product
and model accuracy
• Analyse large datasets to understand trends, evaluate customer behaviour, and
fine-tune strategies
• Stay up to date with racing news, form, and regulations to support accurate
bookmaking
• Ensure compliance with internal procedures and regulatory frameworks
Required Attributes:
• Significant experience in horse racing trading or related risk/pricing roles
• Strong understanding of the betting industry, horse racing structures, and
customer psychology
• Advanced numeracy, logical thinking, and ability to work with large data sets
• Calm under pressure and responsible for critical, high-liability decisions
• Proficient in trading tools and comfortable with performance reporting
