Role Overview

We are urgently seeking a qualified Millwright/ Electrician with experience in the concrete or cement industry for a short-term contract based in Roodepoort. The successful candidate will be responsible for mechanical and electrical maintenance, fault finding, and equipment optimization in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance on plant equipment
Conduct fault finding and repairs on motors, gearboxes, conveyors, mixers, and control panels
Support production teams with breakdown response and preventative maintenance
Ensure compliance with safety and operational standards
Maintain accurate records of work performed and equipment status
Assist with shutdowns, installations, and commissioning as needed

Candidate Requirements

Minimum Requirements

Trade Test (Red Seal) Millwright/ Electrician – essential
Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in heavy industrial environments
Preferably experience in concrete, cement products, or related manufacturing sectors
Knowledge of Overhead Crane Maintenance and Electrical Methods. In-depth understanding of electrical maintenance techniques, including troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of electrical components.
Knowledge of VFD’s and PLC’s
Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills (electrical & mechanical)
Must be able to work at heights.
Ability to work independently and under pressure
Own reliable transport to and from site
Must reside in the West Rand area
