A leading company in the heavy manufacturing industry is looking for an experienced Maintenance Fitter with strong experience in maintaining, repairing, and overhauling plant equipment, as well as working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, to join their team in Vanderbijlpark. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and reliability of production machinery through effective preventative maintenance and mechanical repairs.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic problems in all equipment and machinery.

• Perform repairs, overhauls, and rebuilds of plant equipment and machinery.

• Fabricate, install, and retrofit auxiliary devices and mechanical components.

• Conduct preventative maintenance and daily checks on scheduled equipment.

• Operate lathes, welders, cutting torches, and mechanical presses.

• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders accurately.

• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures.

Requirements:

• Qualified Red Seal Mechanical Fitter Trade.

• Minimum of 6 months’ experience with production machinery, including lathe, milling, drilling, thermal heating, cutting, and welding equipment.

• Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and engineering drawings.

• Physically fit and able to perform tasks involving bending, climbing, and lifting.
