Introduction
A leading travel services group is seeking a skilled and experienced Financial Manager – Operations to take full ownership of the operational finance function. This role offers the opportunity to drive performance, manage risk, and contribute to profitability across the business.
Purpose of the Role
To lead and manage the operational finance department with a focus on performance, risk mitigation, working capital control, and cost effectiveness, while supporting both internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Productivity & Operational Effectiveness:

Oversee staffing and processes in all sub-departments
-
Ensure effective working capital management (AP & AR)
-
Implement strong financial controls and risk management measures
Supplier and Client Engagement:
-
Manage supplier accounts and sign off on credit applications
-
Ensure client satisfaction, timely debt collection, and process efficiency
Revenue & Cost Management:
-
Oversee staff and departmental expenses
-
Ensure all billable fees are accurately invoiced
-
Maximize revenue and ensure cost-effectiveness
People Management & Development:
-
Lead, coach, and develop finance team members
-
Drive performance reviews, training, and staff morale
-
Manage team resourcing, onboarding, and workflow
Living the Brand & Professional Growth:

Demonstrate corporate values and team collaboration
-
Stay current with industry knowledge and best practices
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience:
-
BCom degree (required)
-
5–8 years’ experience in finance operations
-
Solid experience in accounting and auditing practices
-
Familiarity with high-volume transactional environments (e.g. travel industry – advantageous)
-
Experience with SAGE, Quicktrav, AGM, and MS Excel
-
Policy development and implementation experience
