Electronic Workshop Manager

Our client is a technology-driven company that is a leading player in the electronics development industry. The company focuses on the highest standards of innovation and the development of electronic systems and components, with a strong emphasis on customer service and quality.

Our client is looking for a hands-on, experienced Electronic Workshop Manager to oversee and manage the Production, Repairs, and Quality Assurance departments. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical skills as well as leadership abilities to ensure that our workshop runs smoothly, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

📍 Location: Kempton Park
💰 Salary: R30,000 - R45,000 (depending on experience) 
🕒 Working Hours: 7:15 AM - 4:15 PM (Monday to Friday)

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily operations in the Production, Repairs, and Quality Assurance departments.

• Manage and coordinate a team of technicians and production staff.

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff.

• Ensure repair and production processes meet quality and turnaround requirements.

• Monitor workflow and allocate tasks effectively to meet project deadlines.

• Maintain optimal stock levels; oversee the procurement of components and materials.

• Implement and maintain effective workshop systems, SOPs, and documentation.

• Identify and escalate operational or technical issues to senior management.

• Conduct regular quality control checks and continuous process improvements.

• Liaise with other departments to ensure seamless operations and communication.

• Prepare reports for management on workshop performance, challenges, and resource needs.

Job Requirements:

• Electronics or Electrical Engineering qualification (NDip, BTech, or equivalent).

• 2-5 years of experience in electronics and leadership roles.

• Strong technical knowledge of electronic systems, components, and repair processes.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

• Proficient in MS Office and comfortable with workshop management systems.

• Hands-on, proactive approach to problem solving and team development.

• Ability to work under pressure and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.

• Experience in providing leadership and mentorship to junior staff.

• Ensuring legal and regulatory compliance.

Hoofverantwoordelikhede:

• Oorsien die daaglikse bedrywighede in die Produksie-, Herstel- en Kwaliteitsversekeringsafdelings.

• Bestuur en koördineer 'n span tegnici en produksiepersoneel.

• Verskaf tegniese leiding en mentorskap aan junior personeel.

• Verseker dat herstel- en produksieprosesse aan kwaliteit en omkeereise vereistes voldoen.

• Moniteer werksvloei en ken take effektief toe om projektydlyne te haal.

• Onderhou optimale voorraadvlakke; toesig oor die aankope van komponente en materiale.

• Implementeer en handhaaf effektiewe werkswinkelstelsels, SOP's en dokumentasie.

• Identifiseer en eskaleer operasionele of tegniese kwessies na senior bestuur.

• Voer gereelde kwaliteitbeheer-ondersoeke en deurlopende prosesverbeterings uit.

• Skakel met ander afdelings om naatlose bedrywighede en kommunikasie te verseker.

• Berei verslae vir bestuur voor oor werkswinkelprestasie, uitdagings en hulpbronbehoeftes.

Pos Vereistes:

• Elektroniese of Elektroniese Ingenieurswese kwalifikasie (NDip, BTech of gelykwaardig).

• 2-5 jaar ervaring in elektronika en leierskapsrolle.

• Sterk tegniese kennis van elektroniese stelsels, komponente en herstelprosesse.

• Uitstekende leierskap-, kommunikasie- en organisatoriese vaardighede.

• Vaardig in MS Office en gemaklik met werkswinkelbestuurstelsels.

• Praktiese, proaktiewe benadering tot probleemoplossing en spanontwikkeling.

• Vermoë om onder druk te werk en effektief prioriteite te stel in 'n vinnige omgewing.

• Ervaring in die verskaffing van leierskap en mentorskap aan junior personeel.
