    The company is a family-owned construction business that was established in the early 1950s. Our client is involved in all types of contracts, ranging from large-scale projects to alterations and additions, primarily for previous clients. They only employ permanent staff, ensuring a stable and reliable workforce. They do not hire casual workers, maintaining consistency and quality in their operations. The only subcontractors they engage are for specialized tasks such as electrical work, plumbing, and waterproofing. This approach ensures that all projects are handled by skilled professionals, delivering high-quality results for their clients.

    About the Role:
    This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the success of our long-established company. The ideal candidate will have a background in construction administration and be comfortable handling financial records, document management, and day-to-day administrative tasks.

    Responsibilities:

    • Perform general administrative duties including answering phone calls, responding to emails, and organizing files and documents.

    • Organize and maintain both physical and electronic filing systems for various projects.

    • Assist with bookkeeping tasks such as data entry, reconciliations, and tracking of inventory and equipment.

    • Process accounts receivable/payable and assist with account reconciliations.

    • Accurately and timely process payroll, considering the unique requirements of different sectors, including all related overpayments.

    Skills:

    • Proven experience as an accountant and/or office administrator.

    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.

    • Excellent organizational and time management skills to effectively prioritize tasks.

    • Ability to handle multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

    • Knowledge of office procedures and management systems.

    • Must be flexible and adaptable to changes.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    • High level of discretion and confidentiality.

    • Strong problem-solving skills.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

    • A diploma in administration or bookkeeping would be advantageous.

    • Matric (with Accounting and Mathematics as subjects) – work experience may be considered.

    • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role or relevant work experience.

    • Experience with Pastel Accounting and Pastel Payroll will be considered a strong advantage.

    • Verwerk rekeninge ontvangbaar/betaalbaar en help met rekeningrekonsiliasie.

    • Verwerk betaalstaat akkuraat en betyds, met inagneming van die unieke vereistes van verskillende sektore, insluitend alle verwante oorbetalings.

    Vaardighede:

    • Bewese ondervinding as boekhouer en/of kantooradministrateur.

    • Sterk aandag aan detail en akkuraatheid in data-invoer en rekordhouding.

    • Uitstekende organisatoriese en tydbestuursvaardighede om take effektief te prioritiseer.

    • Vermoë om veelvuldige verantwoordelikhede te hanteer en sperdatums te haal.

    • Sterk kommunikasievaardighede, beide skriftelik en verbaal.

    • Kennis van klerklike prosedures en kantoorbestuurstelsels.

    • Moet buigsaam wees en goed by veranderinge aanpas.

    Kwalifikasies en Ervaring:

    • Vermoë om onafhanklik en saam te werk.

    • Hoë vlak van diskresie en vertroulikheid.

    • Goeie probleemoplossingsvaardighede.

    • Vaardig in Microsoft Office-pakket (Word, Excel, Outlook).

    • Voordelig as hulle ‘n admin/boekhouding diploma het.

    • Matriek (Rekenkunde en Wiskunde as vakke) – werkservaring kan in ag geneem word.

    • Ten minste 2 jaar ervaring in ‘n soortgelyke rol of relevante werkservaring.

    • Ervaring met Pastel Accounting en Pastel Payroll sal sterk voordelig wees.
