As part of the Regal Group Finance team, you will contribute to upholding integrity and excellence across our national operations. This role is essential in ensuring compliance, mitigating risk, and driving efficiency across our branches, distribution centres, and operational units.

Internal Audit (“IA”) at Regal is defined as an independent, objective assurance and consulting activity designed to add value and improve organisational operations. Through a systematic, disciplined approach, you will help enhance the effectiveness of our risk management, internal control, and governance processes.

While your reporting line is based at the Head Office, approximately 80-90% of your time will be spent on-site at various branches and operational locations across South Africa.

The Internal Auditor will be responsible for driving the IA programme forward by designing, customising and altering programmes and techniques on a consistent basis. The Internal Auditor, must be able to identify emerging trends across the business and ensure that this role remains at the forefront of arising risks.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform quarterly programme reviews with key stakeholders, making strategic recommendations for improvements in audit methodology, focus areas, techniques, reporting and communication.
• Conduct internal audits independently or in teams across branches, warehouses, and head office operations.
• Execute audits according to the IA programme, identifying control gaps and recommending improvements.
• Evaluate and improve risk management procedures, operational controls, and governance practices.
• Prepare audit reports with clear findings, actionable recommendations, and risk ratings.
• Ensure reporting is maintained within a reasonable reporting framework and maintain consistency of timing and formats.
• Perform follow-up procedures to ensure approved recommendations are implemented and maintained.
• Assist in ad-hoc investigations involving fraud, theft, or process irregularities.
• Extensive travel to our Branches.
