An international company operating in the Information Technology, Transport & Logistics industry, based in Centurion has a vacancy available for a BI Data Analyst to join their IT Team. The purpose of this role is to understand the underlying business drivers and commercial models and translate this into data and actionable insights. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams to gather data requirements, design and develop reporting solutions, and support decision-making processes by delivering accurate, timely, and comprehensive analysis.

Responsibilities:

Data Collection & Analysis:

-           Gather, analyze, and interpret data from various sources to identify business trends, patterns, and insights.

-           Perform deep-dive analysis to uncover key insights and trends that inform business strategies.

-           Develop tools and methods to measure and monitor performance across various areas as identified by management.

-           Develop and maintain data models, dashboards, and reports using BI tools (e.g., Looker Studio, Power BI).

-           Perform data cleansing, reconciliation, transformation, and validation to ensure data accuracy and integrity.

Reporting & Visualisation:

-           Create dashboards that communicate complex data simply and understandably.

-           Prepare summary analysis reports for stakeholders to understand data-analysis steps, enabling them to make informed decisions based on various trends.

-           Design and implement automated reporting solutions to provide real-time insights to

-           business users.

-           Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their reporting needs and deliver customized solutions

-           Operationalize data processes, providing management and functional teams with ad-hoc analysis, automated dashboards, and self-service reporting tools to easily identify performance areas that need improvement.

Business Collaboration:

-           Work closely with business units to understand their goals and challenges, providing data-driven recommendations to support strategic decision-making.

-           Present findings and recommendations to management and stakeholders, explaining complex concepts clearly and concisely.

-           Collaborate with the Finance Team on all aspects of report creation, including deadlines, deliverables, edits, and recommendations.

-           Support new business development opportunities identified and prioritized within both new and existing corridors.

-           Support ad-hoc data analysis requests and provide insights to address business questions.

-           Successfully engage in multiple projects simultaneously.

Data Governance & Best Practices

-           Ensure data governance and data quality standards are maintained across all BI solutions.

-           Develop and document BI processes, standards, and best practices.

-           Implement data quality checks and processes to ensure the accuracy and consistency of data used in reporting.

-           Maintain and update data dictionaries, ensuring clarity and consistency in the use of data across the organization.

-           Demonstrate technical understanding regarding data models, integrations, database design development, data mining, and segmentation techniques.

System Testing & Analysis

-           Continuously analyse and review current and new systems.

-           Report on and resolve exceptions caused by system errors.

-           Collaborate with IT teams to ensure data integrity and availability for analysis.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation:

-           Identify opportunities to improve existing BI processes and reporting methods.

-           Stay current with industry trends and best practices in data analytics and business intelligence.

-           Contribute to the development and implementation of new BI tools and solutions.
