Job title: Office Manager / Bookkeeper
Our client is seeking a highly organised systems-driven Office Manager / Bookkeeper to join their team and support the Managing Director / owners in managing three (3) farming operations.
This role is based on-site in Grabouw, with some flexibility for hybrid working.
The successful candidate will work closely with external accountants and manage junior administration staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Bookkeeping and Financial Management
- Maintain accurate financial records and manage EMP, VAT submissions, and reconciliations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for accountants, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Use Xero for bookkeeping and financial management (experience with Xero is advantageous).
Administration and Staff Management:
- Supervise junior administration staff and assist farm managers, ensuring they provide all necessary documentation and conduct regular stock takes and record-keeping.
- Ensure all managers and administrative staff are adhering to office procedures and documentation requirements.
System Implementation:
- Assist in establishing and implementing new systems to enhance operational efficiency for the growing farming operations.
- Develop and maintain organised and efficient office systems and procedures.
Executive Assistance:
- Provide executive assistance to the Managing Director, including diary management, meeting coordination, and administrative tasks.
- Help the MD stay organised amidst increasing responsibilities and tasks.
Site Coordination:
- Work closely with the Managing Director and Roxy, ensuring seamless coordination between the Grabouw and Barrydale sites.
- Potentially travel to the Barrydale site once a month or as needed (travel expenses covered).
Qualifications and Skills:
- Strong bookkeeping skills with experience in EMP, VAT submissions, and financial reconciliations.
- Proficiency in Xero is advantageous.
- Proven experience in managing administrative staff and ensuring compliance with office procedures.
The position hybrid: remote and in-office
Location: Grabouw, with flexibility for hybrid working on some days.
Salary: R30 000-R32 000 CTC per month depending on experience
Starting date: As soon as possible.
