- Manage all receiving operations, including unloading and sorting of deliveries.
- Ensure that all incoming shipments are accurately and promptly processed.
- Supervise and train receiving staff.
- Monitor the accuracy of all receiving records, including inventory and stock levels.
- Maintain a safe and organised Receiving department, working environment.
- Identify and resolve receiving and inventory discrepancies.
- Creation of all new stock items received.
- Waste management responsibilities.
- Perform stock adjustments daily.
- Monitor and control operational costs.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth and accurate operations.
- Understand and manage the process of Inter-Branch-Transfer (IBT) of stock between the two Group Pharmacies.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimise process.
- Other duties as assigned by management, including weekly updates of the IBT book
- Understand and adhere to all management Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), and/or guidelines, etc. and know where the relevant files are kept.
- Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures according to prescribed procedures and legislation.
- Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve Company objectives.
- Assist with all required cycle counts and stock takes.
My client in the Pharmaceutical (Retail) environment is looking for an efficient Receiving Supervisor.
The Receiving Supervisor shall be responsible for the efficient and effective coordination of all incoming shipments and merchandise at the Company.
The position will manage the receiving department and its staff, ensuring that all items are received, stored, and distributed in an organised and timely manner.
The responsibilities shall include, but not to be treated as an exhaustive list, namely:
Required Skills
- Administration: 3 to 4 years
- Stock Controller: 3 to 4 years
Candidate Requirements
- Grade 12 (matric) is essential.
- Very beneficial to have at least 3+ years’ experience working in a retail Pharmacy environment.
- Should ideally have a tertiary qualification in i.e., business, supply chain, or related field is preferred.
- Relevant experience in receiving and inventory management.
- Proficient in MS Office (full suite).
- Able to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Must have Integrity.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Remain attentive in an often-busy environment and cope under pressure.
- Be proactive, reliable, responsible, and accurate with an attention to detail.
- Must be an effective team player.
