Medical Receptionist
Introduction
A gynaecology practice situated in a reputable Pretoria East based hospital, is seeking an organised and sufficient Medical Receptionist to provide essential administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the practice.
Job Purpose
Provide administrative support to healthcare facilities by managing patient appointments, greeting patients, and adhoc assistance within the practice.
Requirements
Minimum education (essential)
- National Senior Certificate
Minimum education (desirable)
- Administrative or Secretarial Certificate/Diploma (Beneficial)
- Experience on medical billing software (i.e., Elixir, Vericlaim)
- ICD10 Codes
Minimum applicable experience (years)
- 5-8 years
Skills and Knowledge (essential)
- Computer Literate (MS Office Suite)
Other
- Working hours
Mondays to Thursdays: 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.
Fridays: 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
Key Responsibilities
- Performs clerical and administrative tasks required
- Greets patients in the facilities and over the phone
- Scheduling appointments / Calling patients to schedule appointments
- Equipment sterilisation and keeping the practice tidy.
- Preparing patients files
- Assisting patients in filling medical forms
- Maintaining accurate patient records
- Answer patient inquiries / emails daily
- Answering phone calls
- Assists doctor, practice manager, and patients
- Contacting and submitting insurance forms
- Filing
- Inputting data
- Maintains medicinal supplies and equipment
- Meticulous and organised
- Exceptional multitasking and time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Handle patient emergencies
- Maintaining information confidentiality at all times
