Underwriting Administrator (JB4392)

A leading provider of insurance solutions, dedicated to delivering exceptional service and peace of mind to their clients and strives to exceed expectations by consistently upholding the highest standards in the industry is looking for an underwriting administrator to join their team.
As the underwriting administrator, you will validate and assess insurance policy applications to manage risk and ensure effective and efficient new business and underwriting administration.
Minimum Requirements:
2 years of relevant life insurance policy medical underwriting experience
Excel proficient
MS Office proficient
A tertiary qualification in the medical field would be advantageous
Duties:
Adhere to standard underwriting processes and guidelines.
Contact potential clients for tele-underwriting and make appropriate decisions within the stipulated turnaround time.
Maintain professionalism and provide high-level service excellence when interacting with clients, sales agents, and colleagues over the phone.
Update the underwriting source file with decisions made and inform the relevant sales agent accordingly.
Ensure all daily underwriting administrative tasks are accurately completed by double-checking updated workflow records, recorded decisions, and saved forms in the client folder.
Send decline notifications to clients whose applications were unsuccessful.
Update client contact details if underwriting cases are insufficient to meet daily targets.
Upload and save underwriting decisions and forms to the client record on the Owls system.
Respond to and resolve underwriting requests within a specified turnaround time.
Notify your manager of any priority issues, escalation queries, or complaints received.
Use creativity and initiative to resolve outstanding cases and finalize underwriting decisions.
Think of smarter ways to improve the onboarding process and add value to the client's new business policy experience.
Ensure a thorough understanding of the company's insurance products, administration processes, and systems to operate efficiently and competently as an underwriting administrator.
Maintain daily workflow Inbox tasks and stat records for workflow management.
Identify additional training needs for sales agents related to the Asset Life credit protection product and suggest improvements in the underwriting business process.
