Essential Health Pharmacy - Gordon's Bay and our Wellington branch is recruiting for a Registered/Professional Nurse. Due to our ongoing expansion and growing of the business we are always seeking for new talent to join our exciting team.
Please note that these are two separate positions and it is preferable for candidates to either reside in the Helderberg Area or in Wellington.
Your responsibility would be to promote and deliver professional, commercially viable and quality clinic services in compliance with South African Nursing Council regulations and company standards.
Purpose and Objectives
- Manage a commercially viable clinic in line with company guidelines
- Provide lifestyle management screening tests
- Conduct health immunisations and baby health monitoring
- Offer and provide reproductive health services
- Provide adult immunisations
- Provide Primary Health Care e.g. minor ailments and wound care
- Manage medical waste, ensure a safe environment and safety precautions are taken
- Manage adverse events and emergencies
- Counsel and advise patients on health information, weight management
- Refer patients to Pharmacists and other health professionals when appropriate
- Plan and implement projects e.g. Health Week
- Develop health professional networks
Candidate Requirements
Qualifications and Experience
- Registration as a Professional Nurse
- 3 year diploma in nursing or a 4 year degree
- A minimum of 3 years practical experience in a broad range of nursing disciplines (advantageous)
- Computer literate, MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Allegra and Unisolv (advantageous)
Skills and Job Related Knowledge
- Ensure that patient information is held securely, confidentially and accurately maintained on an electronic system
- Administration and reporting to ensure efficient running of the clinic as per company policy and processes
- Ensures payment for services received by ensuring that controls are in place and adhered to
- Manages, monitors and orders clinic services, stock and equipment, along with prevention of loss and shrinkage and monitoring cold chain
- Financial and commercial acumen
- Ensures SANC registration and indemnity is up to date
- Establishes locum network and arranges locums
- Implements and conducts self-audit tool
