THE JOB
As a Client Development Manager, you will be responsible for building and maintaining client relationships, developing new business opportunities, and managing client accounts.
We are searching for enthusiastic people whom we can help teach, develop, and grow.
To succeed, you will need to have excellent English communication skills, be able to absorb, retain and explain large amounts of often complex information, and have the ability to work well within a team and on your own.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Stage 1 – Client Development Manager
- The initial role of the Client Development Manager is to assist our team of Financial Advisors in delivering outstanding financial planning advice.
- A crucial part of our process lies with you – the contact, and qualification of, potential clients.
- This includes handling inbound and outbound calls with potential clients, communicating our firm’s proposition, qualifying to ensure they meet our criteria, and assigning meetings to Advisors accordingly.
- As you develop your skills and knowledge, you will naturally develop key relationships and partnerships within the firm.
- Assisting your Advisors in managing their agendas, managing opportunities using our CRM system, and chasing opportunities will lead to desirable outcomes in both learning and remuneration.
- Your aim will be to deliver exceptional support to both the Advisors and to clients, all while ensuring that you adhere to the FINMA rules and regulations.
- You will regularly review your training needs and, in conjunction with your supervisor, you will address those needs in an appropriate and timely manner.
FOR THOSE WHO WISH TO PROGRESS
Stage 2 - Paraplanner
- In partnership with an Advisor, you will begin to understand how to determine clients’ financial and investment needs, and recommend suitable financial products.
- Complete mandated training, assessments, performance goals and continuing education requirements.
- Participate in various training programs and seminars to expand your performance and remuneration possibilities.
Stage 3 – Independent Financial Advisor
- Attend meetings with Financial Advisors to assist them with presenting proposals.
- You will start professionally servicing the needs of existing clients, while creating new opportunities via networking and referrals.
- Continuing your success, you will expand your duties to include providing financial advice to prospective and existing clients, meeting their financial goals and objectives utilising consultative sales skills
- You must undertake frequent client meetings with existing and prospective clients, whilst maintaining consistent service to all levels of client, regardless of their business level.
- Identify, develop and cultivate your own client base.
- Along with your mentor(s), develop plans to expand your client base, identify prospective clients, and create an optimised strategy to best handle existing and prospective clients.
Over two-thirds of our Independent Financial Advisers started as Client Development Managers; there is a clearly defined route to success, for those willing to invest the time and effort into their own futures.

Candidate Requirements
REQUIREMENTS
- Either have, or be on the way to attaining, a qualification in financial services, banking, business administration, or a related field.
- Proven track record in sales, working to - and achieving - sales targets.
- Demonstrable experience in a similar function, within financial services or a similar industry preferred.
- Exceptional ability to work without oversight. Strong time, task, and resource management skills.
- Strong problem solving, critical thinking, coaching, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills.
- Fluent English.
- German or French a strong bonus.
- Fluency with computers, especially MS Office, is mandatory.
- Ability to plan for, and keep track of, multiple opportunities.
- Familiarity with CRM systems, following processes and updating statistics.
- Willingness to continue building skills through educational opportunities.
- This role would suit a natural salesperson, who is a high achiever, tenacious, determined, and now looking build upon their sales background with technical knowledge.
