IT Systems Administrator
Responsible for ensuring computer systems are well maintained and operate reliably. Tasks include performing regular systems and security monitoring, handling backup procedures and helping set up, maintain and delete user accounts as required. Also responsible for developing and maintaining relevant procedures and standards. Must ensure that hardware and systems work as expected and maintain archives as needed. Additionally, provide technical support related to systems as needed. Also handle patches and upgrades to ensure optimal systems performance.
The ability to be able to coordinate workflow is essential in this role. Strong communication skills are essential during troubleshooting procedures and reporting to management. Must be able to make suggestions for how to improve operations as necessary.

Candidate Requirements
- Build, configure, and troubleshoot software and hardware enhancements, application deployments and infrastructure up-grades.
- Diagnose and correct computer systems issues.
- Provide hands-on system administration support, system maintenance and operations support.
- Recommend software and hardware enhancements.
- Oversee 3rd-party software vendors and IT services to get value for money
- Develop and implement web & antivirus filtering policies
- Coordinate IT plans, systems, policies, procedures and software specifications to satisfy business goals, quality standards and user needs
- Plan and schedule timelines for IT projects
- Design data backup and disaster recovery plans & ensure they are in place
- Report to IT manager, complete tasks in assigned priority order, and update IT task list and project schedule
- Maintain IT helpdesk / PM system and report back to users when tasks are completed
- Administer network security, user access and software permissions & maintain a record of user system access.
- Maintain Windows and virtual servers (i.e. VMWare)
- Deciding on required computer hardware
- Check for & enforce network policy violations
- Develop network operating procedures and troubleshooting methods that reduce downtime and lower repair costs.
- Maintain SQL databases
- Maintain Exchange & Mimecast email systems
- Ensure regular backups of server and user data.
- Ensure all software updates are happening regularly.
- Setup and configure servers, hosts, DNS, routers, network policies
- Maintain server health - disk space, memory capacity, defragmentation, archive superfluous files
- Escalate intractable IT / software problems to vendors
- Maintain company software licensing and ensure no unwanted software is installed on the network
- Monitor remote access, DDOS and infiltration attempts from outside the network using hardware gateway
- Quarterly testing of backups (restore to test server - need test server)
- Maintain 3CX phone system, phone address book, forwarding rules, auto-attendant recordings and IP phones
- Monthly reporting on telephony costs and analysis of cellphone usage to identify abuse and recommend contract downgrades / upgrades
- Maintain internal web and app servers for web development, internal websites, automated reporting and shared applications
- Ensure website & Exchange security with SSL certificates, website firewalls, correct file permissions and access control
