Embark on an exciting opportunity in Cape Town as we seek an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk for a 3-month contract position with an esteemed sports association!
Candidate Requirements
As the Accounts Payable Clerk, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring smooth financial operations!
In this 3-month contract position you’ll start by welcoming new suppliers, and reaching out to gather essential information to kick-start valuable partnerships. Updating vendor information is also a key responsibility; ensuring accounts are accurate and up to date. Processing vendor applications to keep the supplier network growing is another important task. Creating purchase orders with particular attention to detail is crucial, ensuring proper allocations in the General Ledger. You’ll review invoices against Purchase Orders, ensuring compliance with tax regulations. Ensuring all invoices are properly authorised before processing is also part of the process. Keeping everything in check by reconciling Accounts Payable accounts against statements and age analysis reports is an important task. You’ll also assist in prepping monthly payment lists, handling payments, and sending out payment remittances. Handling various cash requests, including team meal allowances, expense matching, and bank returns will ensure smooth financial operations.
Finally, preparing detailed monthly reconciliations of creditors accounts against statements and assisting in reconciling petty cash are key tasks. Always ready to lend a hand with any additional tasks or requests from management, your attention to detail and dedication will be invaluable in keeping our financial processes running smoothly!
To make sure we find the perfect fit, here’s what qualifications and experience we’re looking for: Firstly, you will need Matric and a relevant tertiary qualification. Additionally, you’ll need at least 2 years of experience as a creditors clerk. Accuracy is absolutely essential in this role. Your ability to understand and interpret financial data will be invaluable as you navigate through invoices, purchase orders, and payment records. Lastly, we’re looking for someone with a diligent, hard-working attitude. This role requires dedication and commitment!
