About the position & the ideal candidate:
This position is suitable for a very energetic person who is good at working with people and systems. The suitable person has to be a hard worker with innovative ideas as to how to manage a Stores Department effectively. The suitable person must enjoy working with people and must be a leader in his/her field of expertise. The suitable person must be able to manage a large Raw Material Store on his/her own.
Key Duties/responsibility:
· Planning – To ensure that the production areas have daily production raw materials to meet targets based on orders & stock requirements.
· Raw materials – To ensure that the raw materials & packaging required for production are available, checked, received, authorized & correctly stored when delivered. Ensure that raw materials are managed according to FIFO and short dated stock communicated beforehand to minimize losses.
· Wastage & Losses – To ensure that control levels of losses are within acceptable targets.
· Daily Cycle counts.
· Monthly wall to wall stock counts.
· Knowledge of basic receiving principles.
· Financial Performance - To ensure that the department meets budgeted targets.
· Process & equipment development – To identify measures to ensure stores efficiency and cost savings.
· Hygiene & Safety – To ensure that the stores department meets all health & safety standards.
· Maintain Food Safety standards and initiatives (all BRC Requirements).
· Manage equipment – To ensure that equipment is utilized to maximum output & efficiencies and maintained in a good state.
· Manage staff – To manage the staff to ensure they meet their contractual & performance obligations.
· Training and Coaching/Mentoring.
· Manage waste area – Coordinate waste removal and ensure that the waste area is kept neat and tidy.
· Manage pallets – Ensure supplier pallets / bins are controlled by issuing return slips and balancing the pallets with invoices. Ensure that the pallets and bins are stored neatly.
· Manage the canteen and laundry services – Ensure that the canteen and locker room is kept to food safety program standards. Ensure that the laundry is stored neatly and issued to staff daily and any laundry issues communicated with the service provider.
· Setup and implement structures and systems to improve inventory management.
· Manage the pickup and deliveries to satellite factories and the premix supplier.
· Execute all Adhoc duties should any arise.
· Able to work overtime when needed.
Candidate Requirements
· Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
· Computer skills (Microsoft Word & Excel (Advanced) and Syspro)
· Previous Stores Manager experience
· Good problem-solving skills
· Must be able to communicate with management and clients on all
levels
· Reliable and trustworthy
· Must have own transport
