My client, providing cost-effective solutions for the past 20 years in the technology industry, is looking IT Support Technicians to provide technical support and assistance to end-users and in this process embark on a journey of continuous growth and learning. Specific responsibilities include:
- Communicate with customers over the phone or via email, in non-technical and comprehensible terms when required, to provide solutions to technical problems.
- Perform diagnostic tests and troubleshooting to identify client issues.
- Prepare and present reports to update management on IT support operations.
- Operate and work with equipment such as external storage devices, computer diagnostic tools, printers etc.
- Installing, configuring, and upgrading computer hardware and software, staying at the forefront of technological advancements.
- Assisting users with software applications, email setup, and basic network connectivity, enabling them to leverage technology effectively.
- Collaborating with the IT team to implement cutting-edge solutions and identify process improvements, nurturing your creativity and problem-solving skills.
- Conducting regular maintenance and updates to ensure system security and performance, while gaining expertise in system administration.
- Documenting technical procedures and providing end-user training.
- Proactively exploring emerging technologies and industry trends, helping us stay ahead in the ever-evolving tech landscape.
Required Skills
- It: 5 to 6 years
- Technical Support: 4 to 5 years
- Telecoms Experience: 5 to 6 years
Candidate Requirements
You may be the successful candidate to join the team in Bellville if you have:
- Grade 12 or equivalent plus, ideally, an appropriate tertiary qualification from a reputable academic institution.
- Ideally Yeastar or PBX and VoIP experience or certifications.
- Ideally MikroTik, Ubiquiti, Mimecast, Linux, VoIP, CCTV and any other Microsoft or Network related knowledge.
- Office 365 experience, which includes but not limited to OneDrive, SharePoint, Outlook and 365 Admin Portal.
- Previous experience or internship in a similar technical support role.
- Solid understanding of computer hardware, operating systems, and software applications, with an appetite for staying up-to-date with the latest advancements.
- Familiarity with networking concepts and troubleshooting.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to providing excellent customer service, ensuring the highest level of satisfaction for end users.
- The personality attributes and technical skills typically associated with successful IT Support Technicians.
