Engineering Manager/ Maintenance Engineer (FMCG) EE/AA – Epping - R65,000-R70,000 per month

The purpose of this role is to manage and continuously improve the engineering function through the implementation of best practices that higher level of machine availability and reliability.

Requirements:

·       BTech, BSc Engineering in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

·       GCC will be advantageous

·       Must have experience in FMCG manufacturing, particularly high-speed packing environments

·       Ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and people from diverse backgrounds

·       Understanding and knowledge of FMCG industry

·       Required to be on call from time to time

·       Experience in world class manufacturing tools and techniques such as TPM, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing.

·       Good people management skills.

·       Ability to work overtime

·       Own transport (valid driver’s license)

Key Responsibilities:

·       Ensure that the engineering function maximizes machine availability and efficiency

·       Lead the planning and execution of maintenance of machinery and equipment.

·       Develop maintenance and implement maintenance strategies to improve plant performance

·       Develop and implement capability building framework for the engineering

·       Ensure that all statutory and procedural requirements are adhered in line with GMR responsibilities

·       Ensure plant safety and machinery safety compliance

·       Support Production to achieve production targets.

·       Achieve budgeted maintenance related costs

·       Lead guide the engineering workforce

·       Implement continuous improvement programmes in the factory

·       Implement industry and global best practices in maintenance

·       Assist in the optimization of production costs

·       Ensure that all company buildings and assets are suitably maintained

·       Identify plant capital expenditure requirements and manage project delivery.

·       Internal Audit: Previous year audits as the base, increase compliance

·       Conduct Legal Compliance: Audits and produce action plans to reduce non-compliance

·       Equipment downtime reduction

·       Effective team complementing skills set, second tier leaders

·       Calibration of team and identification of leaders for development annually.

·       KPA’s implemented for all Aligned positions according to standards - annually

·       Timeous submission and targets achieved - annually
