An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Laboratory Coordinator at I&J, Head Office, Woodstock, Cape Town.
Line Manager: Laboratory Manager
Job Specification:
Key Performance Areas:
- Microbiological Sample Analysis
- Handling customer complaints
- SANAS Accreditation – Maintain ISO 17025 documentation
- Manage validations of all tests within the laboratory
- Conduct internal audits
- Handle accreditation of new tests
- Purchasing of consumables and managing the stock levels
- Maintain and update theory and technical information
- Provide training on new methods
- Optimize laboratory techniques
- Maintain equipment servicing schedule
- Ensure equipment is repaired timeously
- Maintain training schedule
- Continuously manage the department employees on a daily basis
- Authorizations – verify and authorize results and test reports
- Draft processes and procedures pertaining to laboratory operations
Minimum Requirements:
Experience:
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a SANAS Accredited Food Microbiology Laboratory
Own transport essential
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology and Biochemistry, Biotechnology or Food Technology
- Honour’s Degree Microbiology or Food Technology will be advantageous
Additional Requirements:
- ISO 17025 Knowledge
