An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Laboratory Coordinator at I&J, Head Office, Woodstock, Cape Town.

Job Specification:

Key Performance Areas:

• Microbiological Sample Analysis
• Handling customer complaints
• SANAS Accreditation – Maintain ISO 17025 documentation
• Manage validations of all tests within the laboratory
• Conduct internal audits
• Handle accreditation of new tests
• Purchasing of consumables and managing the stock levels
• Maintain and update theory and technical information
• Provide training on new methods
• Optimize laboratory techniques
• Maintain equipment servicing schedule
• Ensure equipment is repaired timeously
• Maintain training schedule
• Continuously manage the department employees on a daily basis
• Authorizations – verify and authorize results and test reports
• Draft processes and procedures pertaining to laboratory operations

Minimum Requirements:

Experience:                                                                   

Minimum 3 years’ experience in a SANAS Accredited Food Microbiology Laboratory

Own transport essential

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology and Biochemistry, Biotechnology or Food Technology
• Honour’s Degree Microbiology or Food Technology will be advantageous

Additional Requirements:
