Top steel manufacturing firm seeks Quality Manager ~ Steel or Metal Products. To manage quality in the Rolling Mills and Meltshop. 
 
Non-Negotiables (We will check):

*  3 years Quality Management in a steel or metallurgical environment
*  5 years Quality System Development & Auditing
*  5 years Core Tools like 5 Whys, Fishbone
*  5 years Metallurgy

What the person must be able to do:
 
This role is in the steel manufacturing sector. All duties would take place in this context.
 
*  Setup and Manage Quality Control System 
*  Setup and track Quality Statistics
*  Work with Lab to Identify Root Causes of Quality Issues
*  Set up standardised operating parameters (e.g. temperature) to make quality more predictable
*  Utilise core tools like 5 Whys, Fishbone and G8D to identify the root cause of quality issues
 
Key Job Deliverables:
 
*  Improve Quality of End Steel Products 
*  Ensure Quality Standards are Adhered to including Audits 
*  Prevent recurring Quality Issues 
 
Qualifications & Background work experience:
 
*  Metallurgy Qualification + Pref: Quality related certifications
 
*  Managing the end-to-end quality in an environment that manufactures metal products
*  Developing and managing a quality management system such as ISO
*  An understanding of using core tools like 5 whys and lab results to identify the root causes of a quality issue
*  An in-depth technical understanding of metallurgy, metal processing, treatment and quality parameters like heat
*  Advantageous: Specific knowledge on Rolling Mills or Meltshop

Salary: Market Related. In the Range of R480K to R800K per annum. Highly exceptional more senior candidates may be considered.
